Infosys to Open IT Special Economic Zone
Aug. 27 – Top software company, Infosys, is scheduled to open an IT special economic zone (SEZ) soon located in Kerala’s capital of Thiruvananthapuramson.
The SEZ is beside the Technopark IT campus and will have two buildings.”Each building has a capacity to seat 1,500 professionals. The first one will open shortly, some last bit of work on common amenities and a food court remains. The other building is also nearing completion,” M. Vasudevan, senior business development manager of Technopark was quoted by Headlines India.
The company has a development center in the Technopark campus that already employs more than 1,500. According to authorities, the company is aiming to have both buildings finished by the year’s end or early next year.
Thiruvananthapuramson is found on India’s west coast; known for its coastal hills and commercial activity. The city’s major industries include IT and medical and bio-technology. It is considered a second-tier city in terms of infrastructure and workforce quality and hosts the country’s first and only animation park.
