Infosys Wins US$355 Million Deal from Telstra
Jun. 10 – India’s top software services firm, Infosys Technologies, won an IT outsourcing contract worth US$355 million from Telstra Corp. along with U.S. firm and Hewlett-Packard unit, EDS.
The company will provide the major Australian phone company’s application development and maintenance services in the next five years. U.S. technology firm IBM will also be part of the project. Infosys did elaborate how much of contract will go to the company. Telstra has been an Infosys client beginning 2003.
Due to the global economic crisis, Indian software services firms like Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services have been looking at bagging contracts in Europe and the Asia Pacific to counter the slowing U.S. market, which also accounts for more than 50 percent of its sector revenues.
